Red light therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that uses therapeutic wavelengths of light to support the body’s natural healing response. The light penetrates the skin and stimulates cellular activity, increasing energy production within the cells and encouraging repair. Red light therapy uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to penetrate the skin and underlying tissues. These wavelengths interact with the mitochondria within our cells, the structures responsible for producing cellular energy (ATP). By stimulating mitochondrial activity, red light therapy supports cellular repair, improves circulation, and helps regulate inflammatory responses in the body.
